During Jey Perie’s eight-year tenure as Creative Director of Kinfolk (2012–2020), he transformed the brand from a boutique Brooklyn label into a globally recognized arbiter of cool. His work was defined by "cultural hybridity"—blending high-fashion curation with the raw energy of street and sport culture.
Below are the most notable campaigns and collaborations led by Jey Perie:
Perie spearheaded a limited-edition partnership with Levi’s Made & Crafted, featuring the iconic Kinfolk "Double Bunny" logo. The campaign paid homage to Kinfolk’s origins by integrating traditional Japanese patterns with classic American denim, utilizing chain-stitched embroidery and the expertise of the Levi’s Eureka Innovation Lab.
In one of his most high-profile retail moments, Perie led Kinfolk to be named one of GQ’s Best New Menswear Designers. This resulted in a global collection for The Gap, where Kinfolk stood alongside international heavyweights like United Arrows and AMI Paris. The campaign cemented Perie's ability to translate niche Brooklyn aesthetics for a massive global audience.
Merging his lifelong passion for football with high-street design, Perie curated an athleisure collection with Umbro inspired by the youth culture of Rio. The campaign featured photography by Ricardo Beliel, capturing the vibrant energy of the Maracanã Stadium and the Copacabana, further establishing Perie as a leader in the "soccer-as-lifestyle" movement.
Perie was at the forefront of the "terrace wear" trend, designing a sell-out jersey collaboration with Kappa that drew inspiration from the 1990s Juventus era. He followed this with a Fila collaboration, strategically tapping into archival nostalgia to create products that resonated with both fashion-forward youth and traditional sports fans.
Beyond corporate collaborations, Perie’s creative direction for the Kinfolk in-house label was defined by seasonal narratives like "Run with the Hunted." These collections were celebrated for their "vibe-first" approach—merging French and Japanese workwear influences with Brooklyn’s edgy sensibility
